1.9 Lakh homes to be Build Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Rajasthan

Rajasthan Government will implement Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana with construction of around 1.90 lakh housing units. According to the source, the construction work of proving housing units under housing for all scheme will be completed till August 2017.

The initial implementation of the project will start from the Udaipur division. According to the source, the government will kick off the construction of houses under PM Awas Yojana is six districts of Udaipur. In the first phase, around 1.87 lakh homes are to be constructed.

According to the source, the project is expected that about Rs 2400 crore will be incurred and it is also aimed to finish the project within this financial year.

PM Awas Yojana is central government’s scheme under which 305 cities and towns has been identified and Rajasthan is one of those cities, from which the government has selected higher number of cities for implementing PMAY. Each unit will incur a cost of about Rs 1.50 lakh and have two rooms along with kitchen and toilets.

As per the agreement state will provide land and provide some financial assistance. The money will handed over to the owner of the house but in phases as the construction will progress. Total project cost in Rajasthan is expected to around Rs 6500 crore.
