Announced in October 2014, Chandigarh Housing Board may soon float the registrations for new housing schemes in Chandigarh Sector 51 and 54. The housing board has approved the construction of flats for various categories including economically weaker section (EWS), lower income group (LIG), middle income group (MIG) and higher income group (HIG) under the new schemes.
Chandigarh housing board will be constructing a total of about 1700 flats in Sector 51 and 54. There will be 1 bedroom flat for EWS, 1BHK for LIG, 2BHK for MIG and 3BHK flats for HIG categories. The construction of flats under the new scheme will be based upon the parameters of earlier built homes in other sectors of the city.
Housing board will be using the eco-friendly and sustainable technologies for building these homes. Solar energy utilization and rain water harvesting will also be among the many features of the constructed flats.
The scheme was earlier supposed to be launched near to Diwali last year but delayed for some reasons. Now, according to Tribune India, the housing board is gearing up for the construction of the flats and inviting the applications for the housing schemes in Chandigarh sector 51 and 54.
