Chandigarh Housing Board will collect allottees’ UID, Aadhar numbers

Chandigarh Housing Board has taking an initiative to maintain records and monitor the data of existing allottees and their spouses under various housing schemes of CHB. On Thursday, 14 April 2015, the authority has decided to collect the UID and Aadhaar number of allottees. The expected step of CHB will help to bring out all ambiguities & uniformity of the schemes.

Chandigarh Housing Board has taken the step for CHB property holder across the city, whether they fall under rehabilitation or general housing schemes. Even though the Authority has not given a specific date for the same, the official said collection of UID and Aadhaar number of such allottees will be started soon.

As the official said “The collection process will be completed in three months. With this initiative the board shall ensure expeditious and fair allotment”. The CHB new rule is for both existing houses and the houses which will be constructed under various schemes.

CHB has irregularities in allotment of houses, mainly for those which were allotted under rehabilitation schemes and for the same the department was criticized. In the last scheme in Dhanas of CHB under rehabilitation, the authority involved in the allotment had taken an additional step for allotment by adopting modern technology.
