CHB Chhattisgarh to Include 2% Quota for HIV & Transgenders

The H.I.V and Transgender housing quota may also include by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board in their housing schemes. The state government of Chhattisgarh has instructed the state housing board to reserve two percent houses for HIV patients and transgenders in its housing schemes.

According to the source, the order for the same has been issued by Housing and Environment Department (‘Mahanadi Bhawan’) to Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CHB), Raipur.

The source said the CHB has decided to reserve two per cent of the houses for H.I.V. Infected patients and transgenders in their (Board’s) colonies. Cross sections of the society will also be benefited by the policies of the Board, he said.

According to the current reservation of CHB, there is a six per cent reservation for STs and OBCs each, four per cent for SCs, one per cent each for the CHB employees and families of freedom fighters, besides two per cent each for servicemen, ex-servicemen, widows and journalists, and three per cent for differently-abled persons.
