Construction of 11,259 Houses for EWS has Been Approved By Haryana Govt

PM Awas Yojna: Under the scheme, Haryana Government has given a green flag for the construction of 11,259 flats for Economical Weaker Sections at the cost of Rs. 882,50 crore. These housing units will be constructed at different locations of Haryana.

Krishan Lal Panwar, the Haryana Transport and Housing Minister said in his statement that at present, construction work of 21,597 houses is in progress at various places in the state of which 19,074 have been kept for EWS and BPL. “A sum of Rs223.47 crore has been spent on construction of these houses. The construction work of about 2,447 flats has already been completed”, he also added.

According to the source, all the departments who are participating in the construction are working actively to provide better housing facilities to poor and EWS section of the society.

Apart from this, the state Environment Department has given the approval for the construction of 686 flats for Government employees in housing complex.

Meanwhile, Mr. Panwar said that the government has the vision that every person would get their own house by 2022. The work for construction of 264 Type-A flats in Panchkula for soldiers and para-military forces have also been allotted.

According to the source, 11,259 flats would be constructed at Hisar, Fatehabad, Agroha, Jagadhari, Karnal and Safidon. Of which 3,330 flats would be constructed in Hisar, 4,928 in Fatehabad, 400 in Agroha, 1,179 in Jagadhari, 924 in Karnal and 498 in Safidon.

The Minister said that e-tendering system has been adopted in Housing Board to ensure transparency and third party inspection has been started for quality checking of under-construction flats. ”The Central Government has given rebate of 6.5 per cent in interest rates on housing loans to urban poor”, he also added.
