DDA New Housing Scheme 2016-17 to Offer Flats in Vasant Kunj & Dwarka

Delhi Development Authority will announce 18 housing projects under DDA Housing Scheme 2016-17 in the areas like Vasant Kunj, Dwarka and Rohini.

On Friday, DDA has announced its budget for the financial year 2016-17 in the board meeting, has allocated almost half of its entire budget for development of residential and commercial projects. This budget offers a hope to those people who are dreaming a home in capital.

According to the source, the construction process of these housing projects will be completed in couple of year. Around 33 projects are in progress having a large number of flats are expected to be complete this year.

DDA is planning to launch DDA New Housing Scheme 2016 with a large number of flats in the ongoing projects. Under the DDA Housing Scheme 2016, large number of housing units will be offered in the area such as Narela and Rohini, where DDA has large pockets of land to develop housing projects. Flats will also be offered in coveted locations such as Vasant Kunj’s Pocket D-6 and Dwarka’s Sector 18-B.

Apart from above locations, DDA will also be constructed flats in the South Delhi areas including Kalkaji and Jasola.

The senior official of DDA said that we have small pockets of land available in these areas where flats are being developed and are expected to be a part of the Housing Scheme 2016.

In the new scheme of DDA, 700 flats in Vasant Kunj D-6 would also be included which were expected to be completed in 2010, but could not be completed and offered in 2010 and 2014’s scheme.

According to the statement of DDA official, the repair work of these flats is almost completed now and ready to be offered in 2016’s housing scheme.

The DDA also has a land pocket available at Dwarka Sector 18-B, one of its most sought-after housing projects. “We will be offering flats in Dwarka Sector 18-B also, but the exact number of flats going to be available is yet to be finalised,” the official said.

Besides focusing on housing, DDA is going to expand the development of green area in the capital. In FY-2016-16 budget, the land development agency has allocated Rs. 910 crore for expansion of greens.

Apart from the funds for these developments, the DDA would also include a large chunk of funds for the development of new bio-diversity parks at Tilpath Valley, Jharoda Majra and Wazirabad Phase II.

The capital has two bio-diversity parks – Aravalli Bio-diversity Park and Yamuna Bio-diversity Park, funds will be used to provide a new thrust to their development.

Not only this, DDA is also going to develop convenient shopping centres at Yamuna Vihar, Geeta Colony, Rajouri Garden, Paschim Vihar, Dwarka among others.

Areas like Pitampura, Rohini, Narela, Madanpur Khadar and Badarpur will also get eight new community centers.
