DDA to Offer 200 Apartments to Govt Employees in Dwarka Sector-16

Delhi Development Authority is planning to launch a housing scheme in Dwarka Sector-16 for retired government employees.

According to the source, DDA will construct studio apartments for retired government employees in Dwarka Sector-16 at the worth of Rs. 282 crore and the flats flats will be available on lease.

“The focus of DDA new scheme is to provide qaulity and community life to senior citizens and to ensure privacy”, DDA vice-chairman Arun Goel said.

A total of 200 studio apartments would be provided to the Indian Navy for renting it out to its retired personnel. After the completion, navy will be responsible for the management of the project.

And the benefits of remaining apartments will be provided to state government employees and retired central, armed forces, teachers at government universities and colleges and DDA employees.

The beneficiary will have to pay Rs. 2.2 lakh out of which Rs.20,000 would be a one-time non-refundable fee and Rs.2 lakh would be adjusted at the time of allotment against the total premium.

8 lakh would be charged from each allottee at the time of allotment as a one-time premium. And allottees will have to pay Rs.10,000 as a monthly maintenance charge and will have the right to hold the property till they or their spouses are alive.

According to the information, DDA has identified around a total of 12 acres land on which 1,550 studio apartments would be constructed. The construction process of theproject will be completed in four years. About 10% of the constructed area will be for commercial activities.

The allotment of houses in the scheme will be done through a lottery process. The exact quota for each cat egory is yet to be decided.

The upcoming project of DDA will have Metro connectivity shopping complex and health-care centres.
