Deen Dayal Gramin Awas Yojana: It is an initiative step of Uttarakhand government was taken by taken on 25 September 2007 for providing a Pakka house to homeless BPL families living in Kuchcha houses. The scheme was named as ‘Deen Dayal Uttarakhand Gramin Awas Yojana’.

It is a betterment housing scheme for the poor families of the state. Under the scheme, the beneficiary will get a home for living better which will change the living standard of the poor people.

Main Goals of Deen Dayal Uttarakhand Gramin Awas Yojana:

The main motive of the scheme is to provide a housing units to the people which are enlisted in the BPL survey of 2002, who are homeless or living in a Kachcha house.

Under the scheme, a financial help will be provided to the Scheduled Cast/ Scheduled Tribes, Bonded Labour (Bandhua Mazdoor) and people belongs to general cast for constructing a housing units.

Eligibility Deen Dayal Uttarakhand Gramin Awas Yojana:

  • From total allotment of a financial year under the scheme, 19% will be reserved for Scheduled Cast families and 4% will be reserved for Scheduled Tribes families of BPL category.
  • Besides this, 3% of the assistance will be reserved for Mentally/Physically Disabled People.
  • The scheme has also a provision to benefits the OBC (Other Backward Class) families of BPL categories.

Priority Order for Selection of Beneficiary:

  • Freed Bonded Labour
  • Scheduled Caste/Tribe Families
  • Scheduled Caste/Tribe Families who are victim of Torture.
  • Scheduled Caste/Tribe Families whose Head is Widow or Unmarried WOmen
  • Scheduled Caste/Tribe Families who are victim of Natural Disasters.
  • Martyrs of Operation/Kargil Wars working in Military or Paramilitary Services.
  • Non Scheduled Caste/Tribe Families
  • Physically/Mentally Disabled Persons
  • Ex Servicemen of Military/Paramilitary
