Telangana, recently formed 29th State of India is all set to get its first housing scheme for poor as an independent state. Telangana Chief minister has instructed the Medak district collector Smita Sabharwal to start receiving the applications from the people who belong to poor families or the economically weaker sections of the society. The applications are set to be invited from Thursday, 5th June itself.
However, the chief minister of Telangana will lay the foundation for the construction of 5,000 houses in the first phase of the scheme.
Chief Minister KC Rao also announced the waiving off the loans worth Rs 12,000 crore. The waiving off exercise will be completed in next 10-12 day. As promised by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) before the polls, this would benefit 23 lakh farmers in the state. Rao also said the state would soon have 24 districts.
