Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) in joint venture with Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad (NNG) may launch a new housing scheme in March 2015 to cater the affordable housing needs. According to the PTI, the scheme may be launched in March 2015 offering more than 1000 affordable homes to the Lower Income Group and Higher Income Group of the society.
The authority is planning to construct the affordable homes in the city on encroached government land. According to the sources, GDA is yet to identify the encroached government land for the scheme. After finding such land, the authority will construct flats.
According to the Municipal commissioner of Ghaziabad RK Singh, the construction of the flats would cost the authority about Rs 30 Lakh but will be sold at a discounted amount to the applicants of the scheme.
The applications for the scheme will be invited through online mode through www.gdaghazaibad.com and allotments will be done through the lottery system.
