GDA to Offer 12000 Flats Under Samajwadi Awas Yojna

Ghaziabad Develolopment Authority has proposed to construct 12000 affordable flats under the Samajwadi Awas Yojna launched last year by Uttar Pradesh Government. GDA aims to offer affordable houses to the residents of the state from lower and middle income group.

Out of the total 12000 flats proposed by GDA, 10000 flats will be developed by the private developers under the Affordable Housing Policy of the UP government. The authority has already identified the land for developing flats. The flats will be constructed in the vacant residential land near Madhuban-Bapudham and Indraprastha.

The prices of the flats developed by the private developers will be kept unchanged from the date of registration till the possession. Neither the authority nor the developer will be allowed to increase the prices of these flats.

Since there is a lot of variation in the prices in Delhi NCR areas, the flats in the new affordable housing scheme of GDA under the Samajwadi Awas Yojna will be offered at a varying price ranging between Rs. 2500/- to 3000/- per square feet.

Uttar Pradesh government has already kick started the Samajwadi Awas Yojna by launching 5 housing schemes at different locations. The UP Government aims to construct 3 Lakh affordable homes under the ambitious housing scheme to cater the increasing housing needs of lower and middle income group of the society.

UP government has also announced various incentives schemes to attract more private developers participate in the scheme. Discounts in the development charges, land use conversion charges and stamp duty charges will be provided to the developers for constructing affordable houses under the Samajwadi Awas Yojna.
