State government of Chhattisgarh has launched Godhan Nyay Yojana on 20 July 2020 on the occasion of festival of Hareli. Under the Godhan Nyay Scheme Chhattisgarh government will procure cow dung at Rs.2 per k.g from cattle owners. Government will use this cow dung to prepare organic fertilisers.

The scheme aims to put money in the pocket of people living in the rural area and also solve the problem of stray cattle. Godhan Nyay Yojana will prevent open grazing by cattle and solve the problem of stray animals on roads and for environment conservation.

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the scheme by symbolically procuring cow dung at a function organised in Raipur. Government aims to give a boost to rural economy and to create employment opportunities in the rural area with implementation of Godhan Nyay Scheme.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel performed a puja of livestock and agriculture equipment and extended greeting of Hareli Festival. CM said this yojana will prove to be a boon for farms and cattle reares besides it would check open grazing of cattle.

Godhan Nyay Yojana will encourage use of organic fertilizers, minimizing the use  of chemical ones. As protection of kharif and rabi crop will be ensured, bi-crop area will expand.Fertility of soil will improve and availability of chemical free fertilizers wil improve which will further enhance-nutrition-level of crop as well.
