Govt. approved Land Pooling Policy in Delhi, may build about 20 Lakh houses

Finally, the Land Policy Policy in Delhi has been approved by the government. Lieutenant Governor, Sh. Anil Baijal has declared
the 89 villages of North and South Delhi as Urbanised. Applying the Land Pooling Policy will help in the development of outskirt areas of Delhi and about 20 to 25 lakh houses will be developed.

LG has issued an order regarding to the urbanisation of these 89 villages of Capital. It is a central government’ plan under which houses would be developed with the help of farmers and developers.

The Central government had approved the land pooling policy in 2015 but the file was stuck in waiting Delhi government’s approval. The issue of granting status of urban villages to these villages has counted many hurdles by the Delhi Government.

The Delhi Government laid the condition of granting land from the central government in lieu of sanctioning Land Pulling Policy. Which was not able to agree.

Notification regarding to the matter has been issued. DDA already declared about 115 village as urbanised. The source informed that the policy of adding 200 villages was on pending due Delhi government’s approval.
