Established in January 1977, Haryana Urban Development Authority abbreviated as HUDA took over the responsibilities of urban development activities and planned infrastructure development under the aegis of the Town & Country Planning Department.
Following are the main responsibilities of HUDA
- To perform, promote & secure the development of urban areas in a planned manner with the power to acquire, sell and dispose off both immovable and movable property.
- Identify and acquire land for residential, commercial, industrial, agriculture and mix use development.
- Provide acquired land to Haryana Housing Board and other responsible bodies to promote housing for economically weaker sections.
- To undertake the construction & building work.
