Housing for All by 2022 Scheme: The deadline for online application of housing for all scheme has been extended from 9 April to 16 April 2016. According to the source, the eligible beneficiaries failed to apply for houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana within the deadline, the district administration will accord special permission to apply through Mee Seva Centers from April 9 for a week
On Thursday, a meeting conducted by collector N Yuvaraj with MLAs of Visakhapatnam area and said that the beneficiaries from gram panchayat in Anakapalle Mandal which have been merged into the GVMC would also be given the opportunity.
Meanwhile, he explained the jurisdiction of GVMC about the houses sanctioned to the city under the housing for all scheme.
According to the information, the government had sanctioned around 20,030 houses, of total 10,006 were to be constructed by beneficiaries themselves in their own houses sites and the remaining houses to be constructed group housing model by the housing corporation.
Slum areas would be focused for sanctioned housing units under the scheme. The MLAs agreed to identify slum area which need to be focused upon so that all beneficiaries in the identify slums will get covered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
