Indira Awas Yojana Benefited 5,916 People in Bihar

The construction progress of Indira Awas Yojana is on its slowdown and the beneficiaries of the scheme are not getting much benefits of the scheme. The source informed that from financial year 2010-11 to current year that means from last five years only 16,494 beneficiaries accepted for houses under Indira Awas Yojana in Bihar. Of total, the officials are claiming that 5,916 houses completed under the scheme.

However, the state still have around 10,578 incomplete houses. The main reason behind the slow-work of Indira Awas Yojana is the lazy officers who are not active work on the projects of IAY.

Couple of day ago, a high-end meeting for the review of IAY in the area was organised in which the senior officers reproof the officers for the slow work of IAY. After the meeting the DM ask for the clarification on the same. In the review of the scheme, the area including Halasi, Piparia and Chhanan are at good stage. In last five years, of 2,562 only 446 houses were completed in Halasi, from 638 only 353 houses constructed in Piparia and of 1,984 houses only 594 houses completed in chhanan.
