JDA Jaipur Plans to Launch New Housing Scheme for Widows

Jaipur Development Authority is planning for an initiative step of providing housing units to widows. According to the source, the JDA Jaipur has proposed a plan for launching a housing scheme especially for widows.

The proposal has been drafted by the authority and sent it to the state government for approval.

According to the information received from the source, the women’s welfare group were demanding housing scheme for widows from a long time. Considering the demand, JDA Jaipur has decided to launch the scheme.

In this regard, the senior official of JDA said that the JDA has earmarked a land near Begas to launch housing scheme for 750 widows. The plot will be allotted at 25% of the reserve price.

The civic body has fixed the eligibility for window to apply in the scheme. The minimum age of widow should be 40 years and many people protesting this rule of the scheme.

It was further informed that seeing the income slab of the government employees, JDA plans to squash the quota fixed for lower income group (LIG) and economic weaker section (EWS) houses in residential schemes developed by the civic body. “If the quota in EWS and LIG category is removed for government employees, more plots will be reserved for them in general quota. At present 18% houses are reserved for government employees in the general quota.”
