LIFE Mission Kerala – Government Housing Scheme for Homeless

LIFE Mission Kerala, an state government’s ambitious project has a target of providing houses to homeless. Under LIFE Project, the government is going to distribute first installment of financial assistance and inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) in Koothattukulam municipality on Friday.

The Koothattukulam municipality has been sanction the implementation of both LIFE Mission Kerala and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) in Ernakulam district.

K T Jaleel, Local-Self Government Minister will be inaugurate the function at the Koothattukulam Town Hall at 5.30 pm. The function will be presided by Anoop Jacob MLA and the PMAY installments will be distributed by Jose K Mani MP.

As per the report, total 100 beneficiaries were selected under the LIFE project of which 83 are from municipality and 17 were selected through a survey conducted by Kudumbashree workers in the municipality. The municipal chairman, Prince Paul John informed that the Koothattukulam municipality has provided one acre of land at Chambamala for the project.

While 25 families will benefit from the ‘Life’ project, 60 families will get aid under the Central Government’s PMAY scheme. The first instalment of `30,000 will be given to 51 beneficiaries on Friday.
