Nagaland Govt. Launches Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin

Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G): Minister of Rural Development & REPA, C.L. John. launched the PM Awas Yojana Gramin in Nagaland for providing the benefits of PMAY to rural people. The scheme will fulfil the demand of housing in rural area by constructing stack of housing under housing for all by 2022.

PMAY-G is a revamped version of Indira Awas Yojana (IAY).

According to the guidelines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana released by the minister, the beneficiaries of PMAY-G will be enhanced with the allocation of Rs. 1,30,000 for hilly areas and besides, Rs. 13,000 will also be provided for the construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission. For the construction of house, daily wages would also be provided to the beneficiary upto 90 to 95 days (Rs. 18,000) through MGNREGA.

The beneficiaries will get total amount of Rs. 1,60,000 as assistance from government.

The minister directed the departments for the proper care and implementation of all the components so that the people can utilise the benefits of PMAY.

Through this scheme, both central and state governments are making efforts towards improving the living standard of the rural people.

Keeping in mind the need of inclusive and holistic development in the state within a stipulated time frame, the minister said the state government has also came up with a 2030 Vision Document by incorporating all spheres of development.

“Towards this direction, I urge the officers to make full use of the various programmes being implemented by the department so that our people are developed at par with town dwellers,” the minister said.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin will definitely improve and fulfil the housing demand in rural area.
