Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) to Build 20000 Flats in 5 Years

Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has announced the plans of constructing 20,000 flats in different housing schemes in the city in coming 5 years. The body will construct the flats in two phases, 10,000 flats in the first three years and rest in next 2 years in 2nd phase.

According to the official statements, the trust will build affordable homes for all categories of the society across the city. The housing schemes will be launched for categories including Lower Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG) and Higher Income Group (HIG). The trust has issued instructions to identify the suitable land for the development of housing units and kick-off the process.

NIT already have land available for residential development in several parts of the city including some in prime locations. The NIT aims to fulfill the increasing demands of affordable housing for all categories on a non-controversial land in coming years.

The trust has already offered housing units in several housing schemes in locations like Ambazari, Bajaj Nagar, Bhamti, Sakkardara and others. The latest scheme of NIT in Bhamti received huge interest from the people where it offered flats at much less cost than that of the private builders. Another benefit for the applicants of NIT housing schemes is that they get the loans easily from the banks as these schemes are associated with government body and the land where units are build is fully authorized.

According to NIT trustees Dr Ravindra Bhoyar, the housing projects will be regularly reviewed to ensure the timely completion and delivery of the flats.
