Plans for 12,000 Quarters for Govt. Employees in Amaravati

A Plan for constructing new accommodations for judges, Ministers and staff and the officers of the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat shifting to Amaravati, have been finalized by the AP Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) and the Housing Department. And now the plan in on the table of senior engineers of Andhra Pradesh Housing Board, who are giving a final touches to the plans which will be implemented once the construction of the Interim Secretariat Complex at Velagapudi is completed.

According to the information received from the source, the plan has a proposal of constructing around 12,000 quarters in Amravati, the new capital.

A 4-BHK unit (bedrrom-hall-kitchen) will be available for Judges and senior judicial and IAS officers and the 3BHK duplex houses with a plinth area of 3,500 square feet will be available for each.

Other members including, members of the State Legislative Council and Assembly, Heads of Departments, gazetted and non-gazetted officers and junior employees, will be accommodated in G+9 apartments. The area of flats will be available in the range of 3,500 square feet to 800 square feet.

MLCs and MLAs will get 3,500 square feet flats while junior officers of All India Services and Heads of Departments will be allotted 3,000 square feet flats. The flat area for gazetted officer will be 1,800 square feet. For non-gazetted officers and other employees, the flat area will be 1,200 square feet and 800 square feet respectively.

CRDA Executive Engineer K. Mallikarjuna Rao said that the plans for the proposed duplex houses and flats were awaiting approval.
