PM Awas Yojana – Gramin in Gujarat Launched in Five Districts

Now the people living in rural areas of Gujarat will also able to get benefits of Pradhan Mantri AWas Yojana – Gramin PMAY-G housing scheme. Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani, launched the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – Gramin in Gujarat for the selective five districts including, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Anand, Aravalli and Kheda districts.

During the function at Anand, the CM distributed approval letters and booklet of model designs to over 14,000 homeless family-beneficiaries in rural areas of above five districts.

Pradhan Mantri AWas Yojana – Gramin

As per the plan of Gujarat government, total 2,04,703 beneficiaries across the state is to be enabled to construct their own houses with 20 percent subsidy. Under the PMAY Subsidy scheme, the installments will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries bank account and the first installment is of Rs. 40,000/-.

The government has committed to provide financial help to the homeless poor in building their own houses without discriminating between BPL and APL families. The plan is a part of Gujarat’s plan of providing ‘Rotla, Otla and Makan’ to all.

Under the PMAY-G in Gujarat, the beneficiaries can construct their houses anywhere across the state they like and the quality of construction has to be ensured by the beneficiary himself/herself.

Panchayat & Rural Development Minister Jayantibhai Kavadiya said that Rs.1,372-crore has been allocated in the Gujarat Budget for providing houses to the homeless under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (Gramin), while rules have been changed for land settlement for the plots.
