PMAY Uttar Pradesh – Target of 17 Lakh Houses for Next 3 Years

State government of Uttar Pradesh has set a target of constructing 27 home under prime ministers dream project, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which affordable housing will be made available for all by 2022. While addressing the achievements of BJP government, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath informed that our government has set a target of constructing 27 lakh houses across the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

And a project of 5 lakh homes under PMAY for rural poor would also be started from this month. The government has planning to provide affordable and free houses.

In the first phase of PMAY in UP, 11,286 homes would be provided to people whose annual household income is less than Rs. 3 Lakh and the construction of these homes would be of worth Rs. 384.59 crore.

Over 20 lakh applications for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in UP has also been received from people.

The central sponsored scheme mainly benefits the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) of the society by providing them homes at low cost and financial assistance for enhancement of old house.

And in a recent announcement, the government has introduced MIG (Middle Income Group) category under the Credit Linked Subsidy Component of PMAY. Under the CLSS for MIG, the government would provide interest subsidy of 3% and 4% to MIG category applicants on housing loans taken in 2017 for a maximum tenure of 20 years.
