Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Chandigarh: The state government of Punjab has decided to launch PM Awas Yojana in Chandigarh for EWS and LIG categories of the society. Online application form and registration process of Modi housing scheme will be started.

The source informed that, around 25,000 houses for economical weaker section and lower income group will be constructed by the government. A state level bankers meeting was organised in last month in which Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal informed that the houses would be available at Rs. 4 lakh for EWS house and Rs. 6.0 lakh.

During the meeting, he also directed bankers, financial institutions, constructors and PUDA official regarding to the home loan under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Chandigarh. He informed that a home loan of Rs. 6.0 lakh would be provided at the interest of 6.5 percent.

The construction work of houses under PMAY Chandigarh is in hand of PUDA. These houses would be constructed in G+3 storey building. PUDA officials informed that around 41,000 application has been received from 17 towns through digital mode from which around 12,000 applications would be selected for first phase.

He also informed that the work like tenders and allotment will take period of around 18 month.

In the first phase, the applicants belongs to EWS and LIG category would have to pay Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 25,000/- respectively for taking the benefits of the scheme. complete details of PMAY Chandigarh would be available on the official website of PUDA.
