Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Delhi: Delhi Development Authority will construct around 50,000 flats under central government’s housing mission ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ for EWS (Economical Weaker Section) and LIG (Lower Income Group) by the end of 2018. These houses will be made available by DDA at seven different location of the capital.
Under PMAY Delhi, more than 24,000 houses will be constructed for the families of EWS category. The category has been redefined under the scheme to include households with an annual income of less than Rs 3 lakh (from the former Rs 1 lakh).
An additional stack of 25,000 housing units will be constructed by DDA for the families of LIG category. And the category including the families and households with an approximate income between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 6 lakh annually.
Under “PMAY-Housing for All”, around 2 crore houses will be constructed across the nation for benefiting women, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and weaker sections of the society.
Locations of Flats under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Delhi
Housing units under PM Awas Yojana in Delhi will be available in seven locations including, Kalkaji, Jailorwala Bagh and Kathputli Colony, where the houses are being constructed in situ component of PMAY. Other housing projects under the scheme will come up in Narela, Vasant Kunj, Sultan Garhi and Dwarka.
According to the information received from the source, houses under PMAY-Delhi will be made available at the cost of Rs. 15 lakh per units and he also added that “housing will be sufficiently subsidised for EWS families, since the cost of land is not recovered from them”.
Additionally, the authority is trying to ensure that “all basic amenities are also provided wherever these colonies come up, including shops and basic infrastructure such as roads and streetlights”.
