Government has taken a decision to broaden the area benefit of PMAY-U by changing some guidelines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. These changes are made in different parts of PM Modi’s ambitious project, housing for all scheme. The amendments in the guidelines will allow the individual people living in urban areas having a age between 18-35 years with/without his/her family to apply for house under PM Awas Yojana. Now these people would also be eligible to get benefits under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

PMAY-Urban Revised Guidelines

  • Unmarried people having a age between 18-35 years living with/without his/her family are eligible to apply for PMAY. Such candidates are also allowed to apply for PMAY home loan to buy affordable house under the scheme.
  • In the revised guidelines of PMAY, both husband & wife will be consider as eligible applicants and they would be allowed to fill separate application for the scheme.
  • The changes has also been made in PMAY guidelines to consider young people for investment by encouraging them to apply for PMAY houses.
  • New areas has been included in which the news guidelines would be implemented and these Noida, Greater Noida & Lucknow.

As per the information, 23% Millennial will shift to their PMAY home within upcoming 2 to 3 years.
