Govt. to build 8.03 Lakh Homes under PMAY-HFA in TamilNadu

The state government is formulating the plan of constructing a big stack of affordable houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Tamilnadu. As per the information, about 80.3 lakh affordable houses will be developed under PMAY and the information about the number of houses is revealed by officials after taking the estimates from the PMAY demand survey in the state.

Housing for all is an ambitious project of Modi’s government under which a quality homes will be provided to all the homeless people by the end of 2022.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Tamilnadu Income Criteria:

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, those beneficiaries would be benefited whose annual income is below Rs. 3.0 lakh and belonging to economical weaker section and the LIG (lower income group) families whose annual income is between Rs. 3 lakh to 6 lakh.

An MoU was signed between state and central government on the matter of conducting survey for assessing the actual requirement of housing in the state. An action soon be formulated by the government for implementing the scheme.

As per the report, total 16.24 lakh urban slum households are in the state of which 7.53 lakh living in 12 corporations. The additional housing demand in the urban area of state is about 12.94 lakh of which 6.72 lakh are required in the 12 corporations.
