MHUPA Sanctioned Rs. 71.4 Lakh for Affordable Homes in Goa

Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 71.4 lakh for developing affordable homes in Panaji Goa. Under the central government ambitious scheme, these affordable housing will be made available in 14 towns. And funds for the formation of form a State-Level Technical Cell & Housing for All Plan of Action (HFAPoA) has also been issued.

This sanctioned amount will be used for different types of housing development in selected municipality or town.

The State-Level Technical Cell will include 10 professionals, Urban Planners, Environmental Specialists, Urban Infrastructure Specialists & Public-Private Partnership Specialists for creating the implementation plan of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

An amount of Rs. 55.16 lakh has been sent to state in form of first installment and of total, each town will get about Rs. 3.94 lakh for the construction of houses. As per the information, an amount of Rs. 8.10 lakh from first installment has already been provided in month of June.

For current financial year, MHUPA has sanctioned Rs. 21.6 lakh for implementing of Pradhan Mnatri Awas Yojana Urban. Out of total, Rs. 16.20 lakh will be given by Union Minister for the formation of State level Technical Cell & rest and remaining amount will be contributed by State Government.

Second installment will be released after presenting all details of expenditures for the said project.

Thus this housing project is expected to provide affordable housing units to each needy family in Panaji, Goa to make Housing for All Mission a huge success.
