MHUPDA (Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation) has approved more houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban to fulfil the demand of housing in urban area. These more houses are sanctioned for three states including, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
MHUDA approved 90,095 houses under PMAY-Urban, of 82,262 houses are for Madhya Pradesh (MP), 4,915 are for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and 803 houses for Dadra and Nagar Haveli. These houses will be construction an the investment of Rs. 5,590 crore and central assistance of Rs. 1,188 crore.
82,262 houses are sanctioned for 49 cities and towns of Madhya Pradesh with an investment of Rs.5,260 crore with central assistance of Rs.1,071 crore. 4,915 houses will be constructed in 24 cities of Jammu and Kashmir for investment of Rs.240 crore and central assistance of Rs.74 crore has been approved.
Besides this, Dadra & Nagar Havelis has also got 803 affordable houses for its capital Silvassa with an investment of Rs.26 crore and central assistance of Rs.12 crore.
According to the information received from the source, 46,823 new houses under Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of PMAY (Urban), enhancement of 773 houses in Jammu & Kashmir under BLC and building 42,499 new houses in Madhya Pradesh under Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component.

With this, the count of affordable houses under PM Awas Yojana-Urban for Madhya Pradesh under PMAY-Urban has increased to 1,87,135 and for Jammu & Kashmir to 5,864.
With the approval of these additional houses, total 16,51,387 affordable houses sanctioned so far for the urban poor across the nation with a total investment of Rs.89,072 crore with central assistance of Rs.25,819 crore.
Under BLC and AHP components of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, central assistance of Rs.1.50 lakh is provided for each beneficiary.
